Foundation Classes

GET READY For CROSSFIT & HYROX

New to CrossFit or HYROX? The CFD Foundations Classes are the best way to start.

Our classes teach the key movements used in both CrossFit and HYROX, helping you build strength, fitness and technique in a safe, supportive environment.

Training can feel intimidating at first, that’s why every session is coached, scaled and adapted to suit your current ability level. Whether you’re brand new to training or returning after a break, these classes are designed to help you move better, get stronger and feel confident in class!


What you’ll learn

Each session focuses on building strong foundations through:

  • The 9 fundamental movements of CrossFit
  • Strength and weightlifting technique
  • Gymnastics skill development
  • Mobility and movement quality
  • Short, achievable conditioning workouts
  • Recovery and injury-prevention principles

How it works
Foundations classes run 3 times per week and are included within membership, meaning you can attend as many as you like until you feel confident stepping into our main classes and programming.

Weekly foundations classes

  • Tuesday – 6:30pm (1 hour)
  • Thursday – 6:30pm (1 hour)
  • Saturday – 11:00am (1 hour)

Weightlifting

The 9 Fundamental movements of CrossFit includes:

  • Air Squat
  • Front Squat
  • Overhead Squat
  • Strict Press
  • Push Press
  • Push / Split Jerk
  • Deadlift
  • Sumo High Pull
  • MedBall Clean

Gymnastics

Introduction to Gymnastics includes:

  • Pull Up To Muscle Up
  • Handstands
  • Glute and Hamstring Development (GHD)
  • Rope Climb
  • Box Jumps
  • Push Up And Rings
  • Core and Breath Work

ONE TO ONE FOUNDATIONS

We understand that learning CrossFit in a group setting might not be for you, and you may prefer to take the course one to one. This can be arranged at a time convenient to you.

Our foundation’s course is packed full of knowledge and useful tips, focusing on mechanics and correct techniques at relatively light loads. We teach you the primary movements found in most CrossFit workouts.
