Hi, I’m Dave, owner and head coach at CrossFit Digbeth. I started this box with one simple goal: to create a space where people could train hard, grow stronger — and feel like part of something bigger.

My background is rooted in strength training, functional fitness, and personal coaching. I’ve spent the past decade working with people from all walks of life, helping them become more capable, confident, and resilient — both inside and outside the gym. CrossFit offered the perfect platform to bring all of that together in one place.

Opening CrossFit Digbeth wasn’t just about running a gym — it was about building a community. A place where you’re challenged, supported, and inspired every time you walk through the door. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or walking into your first class, my mission is to make sure you feel welcome, encouraged, and ready to push your limits.

How I Got Here

My journey into coaching started over 14 years ago when I founded our gym, with a passion for helping people move better, feel stronger, and build lasting confidence through fitness.

The disciplines of functional fitness have shaped my approach to training, focusing on quality movement, smart progression, and long-term results. CrossFit Digbeth was built on that foundation — a place where people can train with purpose, push their limits, and be part of something meaningful.

COACHING FOCUS

My coaching style is direct, honest, and tailored to the individual. I care about movement quality, progress, and helping people achieve real, lasting results. You’ll often hear me say “do the basics well” — because mastering the fundamentals is where true progress begins. Whether you’re lifting a barbell or tackling your first workout, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you forward.

My Expertise

With over a decade of experience running a gym and coaching clients, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to get the best out of people — no matter their starting point. As a CrossFit Level 2 Coach, my strengths lie in refining movement, building solid foundations, and helping athletes progress with purpose.

I specialise in gymnastics, mobility, and weightlifting — three pillars that I believe unlock true athletic potential. Whether it’s improving someone’s first pull-up, building functional strength through lifting, or increasing mobility for better performance and injury prevention, I’m driven by the details that make a real difference.
